ACS offers the following benefits to support the authors of
ACS and scientific documentation.
Researchers, teachers and students from institutions around
the world appreciate the articles published in ACS journals through
institutional subscriptions at prices specially designed for different sizes,
types and geographic locations of their centers. ACS members can have the
privilege of subscribing to print and electronic magazines with great
discounts.
Those who do not purchase a single item of interest can
purchase it at a nominal cost or obtain a free article on request through an
interlibrary loan.
Through the ACS Articles on Demand program, any ACS author
can email or publish a link on personal or institutional websites to direct
readers to the published version of the final article on the ACS website, at no
cost to pay. Readers who do not have membership access privileges get unlimited
access through these authorized links, with downloads of unlimited articles
provided 12 months after the publication of the article.
ACS authors can choose to participate in the ACS
AuthorChoice program which has been expanded to allow authors to choose between
immediate availability (ACS AuthorChoice) or available 12 months after the
publication of the table version (ACS AuthorChoice + 12), depending on the
preferred option and funding requirements. The ACS AuthorChoice and ACS
AuthorChoice + 12 options offer higher discounts if the corresponding author is
a member of the American Chemical Society and / or is affiliated with an
institution participating in the publications of the ACS All package.
Additionally, authors may choose to fund the acquisition under Creative Commons
Attribution (CC-BY) or Creative Commons Attribution Non commercial No
Derivative Works (CC-BY-NC-ND) license conditions. ACS AuthorChoice and ACS
AuthorChoice + 12 commissions compare favorably with the commissions for
similar services offered by non-ACS magazines.
